Welcome Home Task Force Talon

Posted: Mar 28, 2019

The CIAssoc was honored to provide funds to the FRG attached to Task Force Talon, to be used to support the unit upon their return to Fort Campbell from a six month deployment.  Rachel Houston, wife of Anthony Houston provided the following information:  “It was so wonderful! And everyone very much appreciated the association’s support – it turned out perfectly. They got in later than expected (8:30pm on Sunday) and there was pizza for everyone. Each soldier had a bag to take home with drink and snacks. The soldiers in the barracks would have had nothing otherwise because everything was closed. And the signs and flags were perfect for the families. I got the cutest video of my kids waving their flags as the plane drove up. I’ll send that to you, too. The memories made that night will last a lifetime!”     Rachel later added:  “These snack bags, the signs, the flags, the pizza were all made possible with the donation from the Combat Infantrymen’s Association. Many people I talked to, even the soldiers who do these ceremonies as their job, said this was the best welcome home ceremony they had seen. And that is thanks to the Association’s support and donation. The single soldiers went home with pizza and snacks and drinks on a Sunday night when nothing was open. The kids waved flags at their parents to welcome them back to the U.S. It was a wonderful ceremony that none of us will ever forget. Thank you so very much for all your help and support!”
